Missions

The Bureau National Interprofessionnel de l’Armagnac (B.N.I.A.) is an association that groups together all the Armagnac producers, negotiants, cooperatives and brokers. It is a non-profit making association that carries out its missions within the framework of the Interprofessional law dated 10th July 1975 and works under the supervision of the Ministries of Agriculture and Treasury. Certain decisions and agreements taken within the BNIA by the producers and negotiants become law following approval by the two Ministries concerned, and as such, apply to all (Endorsement of Quality, Endorsement of vintages ...)
The missions of the BNIA are varied: • To provide technical and practical assistance to all its members. • To provide studies and research concerning the production and commercialization of all Eaux-de-Vie d'Armagnac and more broadly, to gather together economic, technical and statistical information (including regular updates on the market situation and production ...) necessary for the trade. • To control the quality of the Eaux-de-Vie produced and offered for sale, all the while monitoring the correct application of the rules associated with the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée, • To collectively promote Armagnac. • To insure that the tasks assigned by the Ministries are carried out, particularly regarding the implementation of the rules and regulations. |
